FAT BEATS TRIBUTE SHOW ON HALFTIME RADIO

August 30th, 2010

HALTIME SHOW DJ ECLIPSE

Fat Beats “The Last Stop For Hip-Hop”. After 16 years of retail business, Fat Beats has announced the closing of the New York store on Sept. 4th and the closing of the Los Angeles store on Sept.18th. This to me is the end of an era in Hip Hop music being sold at the most internationally known mom and pop store solely catering to Hip Hop. Some good news is that, Fat Beats online site and distribution offices will remain open for business as usual. So please continue your support of good music by ordering records online @www.FatBeats.com. I’m proud to say that i began working with Fat Beats before day one, when Dj Jab first had the idea to open a store in Nyc. in 1994. I was only 20 years old at the time receiving more knowledge than you can ever pay for at a university by having to deal hand to hand, day to day with real life business situation’s. Not to mention that we were two white boy’s entering the game of Rap music. There’s so many classic story’s to tell that i wouldn’t even know where to begin. Here’s a tribute “Halftime” radio show to honor the 16 years of Fat Beats retail. The show is on weekly so tune in @ 89.1 FM WNYU and is hosted by Dj Eclipse. The radio show caters more to the independent side of Hip Hop which is a blessing. Listen to last weeks show above for a brief look into the history of Fat Beats and it’s list of legendary employee’s. Check out what your boy Ryan Sikorski – Lush Life talk’s about when he calls in at 1:18. Many thanks and big respect to Dj Jab and Dj Eclipse for keep Hip Hop alive all these years!
